Live Audition Requirements

SCALE:
Strings - 3 octave Scale (4 slurred notes, with the octave notes doubled); 2 octaves are acceptable for younger players
Winds - 2 octaves
Piano - 4 Major and Minor Scales and Arpeggios (in octaves) in progressive rhythms. Student can choose which keys to play to 16th or triplets at a speed of quarter note= 112. 

SOLO:
All instruments- solo should be under 4 minutes and representative of current playing level.
Memorization is not required.

SIGHT READING
All instrumentalists will be given a short excerpt of chamber music to sight-read.
