Health Protocols
As we move out of the pandemic (hopefully), some health protocols will remain in place for the start of the year. Since children might not be vaccinated, our medical committee strongly advises we continue to observe a conservative approach. To begin the year, requirements may include: mandatory mask wearing, social distancing and well-ventilated spaces. We will NOT require a sign-in/self-screening sheet this year.
How comfortable are you with these protocols?
Very Comfortable

Thank you for getting vaccinated last year! Are you up to date on your boosters for COVID-19?
Yes, I am fully vaccinated and boosted
I am fully vaccinated but plan to get up to date on my boosters.

Age Group
Younger groups might be assigned shorter coaching sessions (one hour instead of two) and fewer required rehearsals. Older groups will need coachings of 90 minutes and might require more monitoring and form completion by coaches. These are general notes, depending upon multiple factors.

All event dates and dress rehearsals will be selected by groups/coaches at the NCCMI Orientation on Sept 11, 3:00-5:00 PM. If you can attend the Orientation, it will greatly facilitate the scheduling of coachings. Semester Schedules need to be finalized by that time! Can you attend the Orientation?

Location/Format of Coaching Sessions
Coaches/Groups can choose to meet in their homes, teachers' studios or at a partnering church.
CHURCH LOCATIONS: For your protection and liability concerns, there must always be two adults present at sessions (the coach and one parent).
YOUNGER GROUPS: Parent can be asked to take notes and make rehearsal plans so the student-led sessions are as effective as possible.
STUDENT-LED REHEARSALS:
Please help your group understand the need for student-led rehearsals. And help them develop strategies for managing that time.
The number of rehearsals expected for groups will depend upon registration requests and student ages. We need YOUR feedback to help determine the magic number. In their first group email, coaches and parents will be informed of that groups' expected number of rehearsals per semester. Student-led rehearsals occur on those assigned weekly days when there is not a coaching session. Rehearsals can also be scheduled "back to back" with coachings.
Here are general recommendations:
"Introductory" ensembles- 5/6 rehearsals/semester
"Competitive level"- for up to 8/9 rehearsals/semester
As always, Group Coordinators will assist with scheduling and reminders.
Are you prepared to help you group plan their student-led rehearsal strategies?
*
Yes- I am comfortable with this expectation and have plenty of ideas.
Yes but I need to have access to ideas and strategies to share.
Where would you prefer to conduct your coaching sessions? Select all that apply.

Schedule
Your group or groups will be assigned a specific recurring day/time to meet, based upon these choices. Coaches will schedule their 4 sessions per group per semester, from the group's assigned days. The two coaches (per ensemble) should try to alternate sessions if possible and plan to schedule coachings close to the group's major performances. For instance, there should be a coaching immediately prior to Performance Reviews, Master Classes and Spring Concerts. It's a good idea to have a coaching in coordination with NCCMI dress rehearsal times.
The number of COACHINGS per semester is the same as last year: 8 total per semester (divided between 2 coaches who each do 4 coachings per semester). Check all days/times that you are willing to teach.

Monday 6:00-8:30 PM
Wednesday 6:00-8:30 PM
Saturday 1:00-3:30 PM
Saturday 3:30-6:00 PM
Sunday 1:00-3:30 PM
Sunday 3:30-6:00 PM
You will notice fewer options here than in the past. This is to facilitate better group formation. There MIGHT be other options available but we appreciate your willingness to choose one or more of the listed options. We have listed 2.5 hour timeframes but you will only teach 1.5 hour sessions (except for Leadership groups). The other hour is for group warmup or rehearsal (if appropriate for that age group)
Availability for Events/Extras
There are a number of optional extra events throughout the NCCMI program year. Teacher meeting- a really important, paid service ($25)! The Orientation is an unpaid service but you are encouraged to attend. We are so proud of our faculty and want to introduce you to the families! In addition, it is the best way to meet your group face to face, and work out the scheduling.
Other events listed are paid as a single service, like January Performance Reviews (faculty panel). Dates and times are subject to change. We only need a couple of teachers to help with Performance Reviews, so you might not be asked to work that date. By the same token, your "check-off" here will not obligate you for that service. We will email you with details closer to the dates involved.
Please check if you are available for these optional dates.
